My family would recommend L.W.Clutterbuck to anyone looking for a caring and supportive service after losing a loved one. The team are always on hand for any questions you may have. We will be forever greatful for the way in which our loved one was taken care of and how supported we felt throughout the process of organising the funeral. Thank you for making this unbearably difficult time less difficult by being so supportive at a time when we were grieving and in shock after the sudden death of my father in law. You truly are a great bunch of people!
I had never had to arrange a funeral before, and hadn’t got a clue. I was lead through the process with endless patience, suggestions made for things I would never have thought of, and everything that I could wish for could be (and indeed WAS!) done. We were a very small party, bidding my dear mother goodbye, and yet everything was done with simplicity, dignity and compassion. Each member of staff I dealt with, from Andrew and Lee, who came to collect her the day she passed, to Ruth the secretary, and Jamie who helped me decide on the arrangements, and managed it all so beautifully on the day - all were charming and sympathetic. Absolutely first class. With many thanks.
Our experience of using Clutterbucks for my father's funeral made a difficult time easier to bear for all of us. Jamie and the rest of the staff couldn't have been more attentive and understanding. Their personal touch and attention to detail have made all the difference. we are most thankful.
I would not recommend Clutterbucks Funeral Services to anyone. The hearse was 20 minutes late for my mother's funeral last week. During this time, I could not contact them, we had no idea where they were or what the problem was. Unfortunately, you get given a half-hour slot at the Crematorium Chapel and we were faced with the choice of romping through our service in 10 minutes (!) or coming back 2 hours later when, luckily, there was a free slot. Although Clutterbucks apologised, there has been no comeback from them since the day, no follow-up. The whole affair was very unsettling and upsetting, particularly for my father who has early dementia, not to mention the guests, some of whom couldn't wait around for 2 hours for the postponed service. Of all the things a funeral director has to get right, surely getting to the chapel on time should be No 1?
In addition, they sorted out the announcement in the local Gazette and used the wording "... AS died at last..." Surely, that could have been worded differently!
