We are a well established family owned firm with a reputation for providing a dedicated and professional service. Each member of our team has been highly trained to deal with clients in a sympathetic and understanding manner at all times. Our offices are situated on the A23 in Preston Park. They are contemporary, spacious and comfortably furnished, offering an informal environment in which to discuss and finalise any funeral or memorial arrangements. Should anyone prefer these discussions to take place in the privacy of their own homes, we are only too pleased to come and see you at whatever time is convenient. The Bowley and Gallagher families have many years of experience working in the funeral profession, having lived and worked in Sussex since the mid 1970s. Paul Bowley was born and grew up in Brighton, attending Rudyard Kipling and Whitehawk Schools. In 1980 Paul started work as a coffin maker with W A Stringer & Son in Kensington Gardens, and first started arranging and conducting funerals when he moved to Hurstpierpoint to look after Frank Davey's in 1989. Paul moved to Hassocks to establish Bowley Funeral Service in 1999 in partnership with P & S Gallagher of Haywards Heath. Patrick, Sandy and Matthew Gallagher have almost 90 years experience in the funeral profession between them and have lived and worked in Sussex since 1974. The family established their own business, P & S Gallagher in Haywards Heath in 1992, opening additional premises in Burgess Hill in 2010. Matthew Gallagher studied at Varndean College and lives in Brighton city centre. Working together in partnership, we are genuinely excited to open our fourth set of premises here in Brighton, offering an independent family owned funeral service that has been conspicuously absent from the city in recent years.
