I cant thank this company enough, especially Liam, for all of the guidance and support he gave our me and our family when my Mam passed away. Liam was very compassionate from start to finish, he does an excellent job and lets face it, not everyone could carry out his profession to such a high standard, this job definitely takes a certain type of person! The invoice arrived over a week after the funeral and was very reasonable compared to other companies. Thank You
On Easter Sunday my son died unexpectedly and without warning or reason. This company guided me through my tragedy with nothing but compassion and professionalism. Lindsay took care of my son as if he was her own family and guided me through making arrangements with patience. I was able to visit my boy in the chapel of rest daily and staff opened up at any time of day to suit my needs. The service itself was beautiful and Lindsay did my son proud walking him into the crematorium. In such tragic circumstances I’d never have known who to turn to or what arrangements to make, this company covered every single detail and I couldn’t have asked for better people to help myself and my family in our time of need. From the winter family, thank you
Front start to finish this company have been uncaring and unprofessional. My mother died suddenly and the coroner was involved this firm went ahead and booked the funeral etc without say so from the coroner and didn't inform the family we basically had 24 hrs to make arrangements etc. On the day of the funeral they didn't send enough mourning coaches and family had to go in ordinary estate cars, they failed to stop at the house where she used to live as promised, at the crematorium they asked a family member if they knew where her plot was in our local cemetery so they knew where to put her flowers, I could list more mistakes. At a time of loss this firm should be there to ease your suffering these people made the whole thing unbearable and undignified.
I can’t thank everyone from Derwentside funeral services enough for the sensitive & professional way they helped us with my brother in laws funeral. At a very stressful & upsetting time the support we were given was exceptional. Nothing was to much trouble.
Again thanks from all the family.
We were shown respect at the beginning from this company but that soon changed. My mam passed suddenly so we had to wait for coroner's report before we could arrange anything we were in limbo not knowing anything. This company went ahead and booked a funeral date anyway. We were a grieving family and it was all left in our hands. We had less than 24 hours by the time we received a death certificate to finalise everything. On the day of the funeral we had asked for 3 limos to travel in, they sent two limos plus two silver estate cars. This was out of order the cars were booked so family could travel in dignity. My mam was cremated so we purchased a plot in the local graveyard we asked for flowers to be placed on that plot. On the day the undertaker didn't know what we were talking about he didn't know where in the churchyard the plot was. Then they have just delivered my mams ashes today in the complete wrong urn as to what we chose. My mam was a much loved and respected person loved by many she deserved the best and she certainly did not receive the best .
Under the circumstances we have been treat with care. We have been informed at every stage and can’t fault the service one bit! Absolute brilliant company and they treat my dad with love and respect he deserved.Has made our awful time feel that but more bearable due to the kindness and discretion showed.
We used them for my mam in laws funeral after a horrible experience with the co op service. Kept us up to date and informed. Respectful and caring. Its something we all have to do eventually and i can honestly say they made it easier and much more bearable.
Very efficient service. We had a small funeral and everything was handled very well. The staff I had contact with were caring and helpful and the funeral went very well with no problems. The cost was reasonable and the invoice was not sent for some weeks.
I used Derwentside at Consett and i couldn't fault them.Right from the death of my daughter until her burial they couldn't do enough.Peter and Irene were very professional and caring. They were there every day,day or night to provide a great service.Funeral went well,no problems, horses and carriage were absolutely amazing.Would highly recommend this company they were brilliant. Well done Derwentside Funeral Service and thank you for everything.
Sent invoice for payment on the day of funeral. Also told me on the day of funeral that my father would have to "wheeled" into the church due to the weight of the coffin. ...had we had prior notice of this we would have arranged our own pall bearers. Unable to lift coffin at graveside due to health and safety so local council who were there had to assist. A total shambles and not the "respect and dignity" they promise. Would not recommend.
Very professional caring people. Very helpful, made the day bareable.
