It has taken me near a year to be able to come to terms with what happened and to write this review. However I would hate for anyone to go through what I and my family went through with Mears and Jackson. I used Mears and Jacksons to repatriate a family member to Africa who wished to be buried there. The service they provide is shoddy at best. Sophie Jackson who is a Company Director was exceptionally rude and disrespectful. They promised the body will be repatriated in time for the funeral however we went into panic mode when the body was neither repatriated on time as agreed or when they wanted to send the body to a different state(6 hours away) from where the funeral was to be held. All this aggravated by the seemingly intentional lack of communication with the funeral director who was meant to receive the body in Africa and the lack of checking the travel documents properly only for them to realise at the last minute that they had not been sent the correct documents at the airport causing further delays. They then turned round to blame us instead of taking the responsibility as experts to have checked the documents
Most importantly they claim to be professionals in repatriation of bodies but they absolutely are NOT. I even considered taking this up legally for the additional emotional trauma caused by them and the curt responses to my messages, the lack of communication as I had to chase them a number of times and the overall cost and damage to our funeral plans but decided not to to becauseof the emotional stress this might cause the family. Please avoid their service if you possibly can. It isnt worth the heart ache
It started so well but the last 6 months we've been waiting for changes to an existing headstone, being told to call back every 4 weeks (twice). Was told that headstones were being delivered the following week, but it turns out they had done absolutely nothing at all with our requests for 6 months and had been fobbing us off. They don't return calls, are less than honest and entirely clueless to their customers needs. Avoid.
Used Mears & Jackson twice, once 4 years ago and once today. Cannot fault Chris and the team and yet again received a very professional, compassionate & helpfull service. Nothing is too much trouble and honestly looked after us both times. Thankyou!
These people have no respect for grieving families.
Gravestones can take over a year to get! OVER A YEAR!
Unprofessional. hey take your money and leave you to do the work hunting them down
They wont return calls. GO ELSEWHERE!
