I have to say a huge thank you to Simon and Jill for giving my father in law an excellent send off, from right the beginning they have been really approachable and respectful, and considering that our family is deaf, Simon and Jill texted and WhatsApp and emailed with no fuss at all. Simon and Jill listened to what we wanted and delivered an outstanding service from flowers to photo slide show and the music. The Celebrant James Greely delivered a really moving eulogy it was just simple perfect! And Simon and Jill arranged a week later to drop the ashes off. I would not hesitate to use trust funerals again

Simon and Julie were there for us as soon as we rang them. They put our minds at rest straight away. We wanted something different and that's what we had. We kept in touch while my mum passed as she was given end of life. They visited us and were so understanding and caring which helped us plan what we wanted.We had a contemporary celebration of life for mum and they planned it all for us and we felt so relieved that it was all going to be perfect on the day. They delt with everything, flowers, donations and walked us through were to stand and when, for our eulogy. We also wheeled mum in by the family and put her in her final resting place. By request they didnt wear black and also brought mum in there dark blue limousine. Bet mum liked that.They arrange all the music you may want. The finishing touch was when Simon and Jill bowed to Mums coffin before they left the service. praise

My wonderful husband wished to have a natural burial. When he sadly passed away on 1st March 2021 I searched for natural burials and found the site for Trust Funerals. I rang the number on their website and spoke initially to Jill who was wonderful explaining how everything would work. Simon rang me the next day and we started the planning all explained carefully fully and without fuss but with such empathy. I met them both when I went to our chosen burial site Dale Hill. There was an immediate connection and warmth with all concerned, that included Anthony who manages the site, turning an awful set of circumstances into a positive experience. My opinion that Trust Cremations offered exactly the personal service that I was looking for has been absolutely proved by their recent help. In the middle of completing the paperwork for a prepaid plan I found that I was unexpectedly scheduled for important surgery. I contacted Jill to see if it would be possible to speed things up so that I was covered in the event of an emergency. We communicated by email and phone and she arranged the express delivery of forms to sign and return and a speedy bank transfer. From Monday morning to Wednesday morning we completed everything (including a bit of telephone chat) and I was able to file the documents in the "in case of" folder and cross that concern off my list. How great it is to be able to have the truly personal contact at these times!That's the sort of background that really counts.

I can’t speak highly enough of Jill and Simon at Trust Funerals. We wanted a ceremony which was a little different and along humanist lines - and definitely no black!!
They both explained what they do very simply, clearly and with a great deal of empathy - which shone through in all their dealings with me at a very traumatic time.
Our ceremony was quite beautiful and Simon and Jill played a big part in that. Myself and my three children took my mum into the chapel on a wheeled bier and it was a very powerful experience. This is just one part of their recommended approach to help personalise the occasion.
In fact all of their approach helps personalise the ceremony. They cut out peripheral things which are just not needed and the end result was a ceremony which was perfect for my mum.
I have no hesitation in recommending Simon and Jill and their approach in this modern world.

This was my first experience of arranging a cremation. Jill and Simon were very professional, compassionate, helpful and friendly. They arranged for my mother to be collected from the south coast and kept me fully informed every step of the way. The flowers that I requested were perfect ( as Jill said they would be ). As I live abroad we had asked if mums ashes could be delivered to their home earlier than the 10 days as per their contract. We assumed that they would be delivered via courier, but that was not the case. Jill delivered them herself & was very caring when handing them over. At such a sad, traumatic time, they made the process stress free. The small gathering that we arranged to scatter her was perfect. I would not hesitate to recommend them.

We had opted for the direct cremation and their package seemed to deliver all the requirements we were looking for..
We arranged to be visited at home and meeting Simon confirmed we had made the right decision.
The service we received was second to none and Jill kept me informed by email all the way through the process.
We paid a small amount extra for a casket and Simon delivered the ashes back to us personally.

This is something I’ve been meaning to write for nearly a year. This firm looked after my mother’s cremation after I decided I didn’t want an event that would be attended by just myself, husband and a friend. The circumstances of my mum dying were that she was away from home, difficulties with getting her home, and her sister very ill in hospital. She had expressed her sadness at the same circumstances occurring for a friend and brother-in-law, and that she wouldn’t want that for herself.
My husband found this firm who specialise in arranging none attended funerals. We contacted them about how these are arranged. They came to visit and went through the formalities, and after deliberations we decided to go ahead.
Everything is done on the same formal basis as if people were attending, with flowers and music if requested, the ashes are then returned to your home as quickly as possible. They also brought me a small bouquet of the type of flowers I’d asked for.
My husband and I switched off phones and spent the day doing a favourite drive of my mum’s.
This has left me feeling I celebrated my mum’s life rather than mourning her difficult death.

My son died in September at the age of 23. He wasn't religious, and we had never discussed what he wanted for his funeral. I wanted a service that celebrated who he was, what he meant to us, his achievements, and didn't gloss over some of the difficulties he faced in his life.
Discussions with Simon and Jill took place over a few days, by phone to start with regarding the costings, and then in person to discuss how we wanted the service.
We did have the service at the Crematorium as I didn't want his final journey to be alone.
The arrangements Simon and Jill made were great, and we were helped by a lovely celebrant James Greerly to make the funeral into the celebration I hope my son would have appreciated. It was relatively informal as he would have wanted.
It went very smoothly.
Jill brought the ashes to our home after the event.
Both Simon and Jill did a wonderful job. They were kind, considerate and open to discussion about what we wished. If/when we need another funeral/celebration of life, then we will certainly use them again.
Thank you Jill and Simon.
The costs were much less than the local town funeral directors quoted.

I searched far and wide for a direct cremation service for my young friend who passed away very suddenly and unexpectedly, local directors had an almost untrustworthy attitude about my friend being Lithuanian with reference payment, I happened upon Simon & Jill from Trust funeral, I was in talks with a few directors but there was something about Trust funerals I found calming, caring and professional, I asked for a quote which was exchanged and I agreed a very minimal fee, I viewed their website which was a reasurance, they conducted themselves beyond the call of duty and kept me informed every step of the way with assurance from the coroner's office of their professional conduct, I spoke to Simon several time throughout the process and was given every reasurance, on returning the cremated remains in an airfreight approved urn supplied by trust funeral as my friend has now been reunited with his homeland, Jill brought me back my friends remains in person along with a beautiful bouquet, This was very unexpected and very gracious. My husband passed away quickly after a short illness, he didn't want a funeral just a cremation and I would later scatter his ashes in places he loved. Simon and Jill are two lovely people who made the whole process so much easier than it could have been. We cannot find any fault with the service provided by Jill and Simon. From start to finish they were sympathetic, honest and truly professional. They guided us through the whole funeral process with care. There were no hidden costs so we knew from the start just what the total would be. In this respect we feel we had a superior funeral at a great less cost than with the major firms. During the ceremony itself they were there with us ensuring that everything was as it should be, not hanging around outside the crematorium like some other staff were from well known large funeral directors who were laughing, joking and smoking.
We have no hesitation in recommending Trust Funerals to anyone. In our book if you want a more personal service, think about this firm before anyone else.

We turned to Simon after the death of our eldest son, we knew that we did not want a traditional service and Simon was able to provide exactly what we were looking for. He was extremely understanding of our needs and very professional. He found the perfect celebrant for the service and the fact that he was able to offer an alternative to a traditional hearse exactly suited our requirements. It was a terrible day when we said our final goodbye to our son but Simon made it bearable. We have no hesitation in recommending Trust Funerals, for us the cost was not an issue but we must also mention the very reasonable and transparent price.

I am sure that like many people who are faced with sudden bereavement and the confusion as to where to begin the first place to turn is the Internet . My mother passed away very suddenly and I was left to try and sort out a cremation with limited finance. After a lot of in depth searching I found a cremation only service at a remarkable price but was unsure as to what this entailed and how it could be so much cheaper than the majority of other companies. I contacted Simon who was open, honest, professional and respectful in his answers to my many questions. After thinking about what he had said ,it was decided to go ahead with the cremation only service offered. Simon and Jill provided support and worked behind the scenes so that everything went very smoothly. I certainly have no reservations in recommending Trust Funerals,and I am sure that you will be dealt with in the same considerate,helpful and kind manner that I encountered . Do not be concerned by the moderate pricing structure this is a bona fide company,run by two caring people.

My brother passed away 2weeks ago he had no life insurance . After searching the Internet I came across trust funerals from Matlock , it is a small family run undertakers business with a huge heart . Simon the funeral director was full of compassion he looked after my late brother to the highest standard possible from start to finish , his fee was minimal . There are no words I can say to thank him . I would recommend this director to any person they will not be disappointed with his service . Simon from Trust took care of my Mums arrangements in July 2016, right from the outset he was transparent, honest and upfront as to what he could offer and how much it would cost. All through the process he was sensitive and respectful. On the day of the cremation he arrived on time, was immaculately turned out and steered us through the process in a very professional manner. I would definitely recommend them to anyone.
