several months ago I sent in a review which was never answred. We used Mahony and Ward in June 2013 for my much loved late father Edward Brook. I left it for a couple of years because I didnt realize then that other families whose funerals I have attended since have not had to pay for the funeral up front. We were visited at home by a member of your team and told that if we could not pay prior to the funeral the suggestion was made that we may have to have a council funeral. We told the man that my dad had insurance with the CO OP (Mahony and Ward knew this because my dad had arranged for them to do the funeral several years before he died. I was there and we were told that the payment would be taken afterwards we even showed the insurance certificates!!!!! )This matter was very upsetting .It was a good thing that my daughter and her husband were with us because we were asked for credit card payment if we didnt have enough cash .Luckily we had enough on our cards to be able to cover the cost. We used your firm because you were recommended, the family felt that your team member could have been more compassionate. This should have been a stress free funeral arrangement. I just wondered why we were not told this was your policy when dad arranged his funeral then we could have been prepared. Thank you
