I would not recommend Clutterbucks Funeral Services to anyone. The hearse was 20 minutes late for my mother's funeral last week. During this time, I could not contact them, we had no idea where they were or what the problem was. Unfortunately, you get given a half-hour slot at the Crematorium Chapel and we were faced with the choice of romping through our service in 10 minutes (!) or coming back 2 hours later when, luckily, there was a free slot. Although Clutterbucks apologised, there has been no comeback from them since the day, no follow-up. The whole affair was very unsettling and upsetting, particularly for my father who has early dementia, not to mention the guests, some of whom couldn't wait around for 2 hours for the postponed service. Of all the things a funeral director has to get right, surely getting to the chapel on time should be No 1?
In addition, they sorted out the announcement in the local Gazette and used the wording "... AS died at last..." Surely, that could have been worded differently!
