**NOT RECOMMENDED**

Having used this funeral director previously and was happy with the service they provided, we chose them again. I would have liked to leave no stars as the service this time was appalling. The consultation was really a sales pitch which lasted two hours. He tried to sell us upgraded urns, silver fingerprints of the deceased, stationary, etc. There did not seem to be much sympathy or caring. When we said that we would arrange the flowers, stationary and meal ourselves, he was very put out. The mark up on the products was extortionate. Even when we had arranged the meal (£4 a head where as Goudies were charging £7 a head for the same place) they still contacted the restaurant! Why? Goudie's charged us nearly £900 for this consultation. For a simple funeral -coffin, hearse, one car, urn, crematorium and humanist, it was quite expensive - £4000. We had arranged to view the deceased but when we went there first time there was nobody there - very upsetting. Goudie's were okay on the day as the guy who had done the consultation was not there. Thank goodness as he had made us very uncomfortable. The payment afterwards was diabolically handled. We had kept Goudie's informed of the situation weekly but within two months, handed the rest of the amount over to a debt collection and sent a very threatening letter. At no point did they suggest a payment plan. This is not the caring sympathetic funeral director that you want handling your funeral. We were very upset about our loss but could not grieve properly because of Goudie's service. I would definitely not recommend them.

Did you know? The funeral directors register was founded in August of 2012, that is 12 whole years! We like to think of ourselves as the first, comprehensive, funeral director reviewing platform in the United Kingdom.
