Excellent, caring and professional service

19/09/2021

It is always a difficult time when a beloved one passes over, and even more distressing when Covid restrictions have to be kept.

My husband departed this life in February. There was a delay in the cremation of the body until March, and it is only recently that I felt able to collect the ashes.

What was most helpful and consoling was the service we received from Fishwicks. I was uncertain what I wanted in some aspects and specific in others. My requirements were met and my expectations exceeded.

The situation of the crematorium is simple stunning. The Chapel is delightfully modern. The large screen showed our chosen photographs perfectly and this was acknowledged by those who viewed the funeral in their own homes. The fact that the Service could be viewed for up to four weeks later was appreciated and people could even obtain a DVD of it. Also, we were able to download a version for our own keeping.

Another ‘touch’ was that my choice of rather unusual, but fitting music was respected. This was demonstrated in allowing my daughter to have full access to Fishwicks music library. Nothing at all was too much trouble for them.

When I collected the ashes, my husband’s cheap watch (a temporary replacement for his usual one) had been placed in a small, velvety red bag closed with a beaded cord. Another example of their high standard or care.

Yes, I may have rambled on a bit, but I have been so impressed with the service, I felt I had to share it.

Did you know? The funeral directors register was founded in August of 2012, that is 12 whole years! We like to think of ourselves as the first, comprehensive, funeral director reviewing platform in the United Kingdom.
